> About the International Baccalaureate
In May 2004, our school received the authorisation from the IBO - International Baccalaureate Organization - to offer the International Baccalaureate program in French to our pupils.
This makes it possible for our pupils to receive full schooling from preschool all the way to the IB and allows Waldorf pupils to exit school with an internationally recognized diploma for entry into University.

> General Information
The two year International Baccalaureate program is an academically challenging and balanced programme of education with final examinations that prepares students for success at university and life beyond.
It has been designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional and physical well-being of students. The programme, has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities.
The IB Programme is comprised of
- Diploma Programme Core:
Extended essay: asks students to engage in independent research through an in-depth study of a question relating to their study.
Theory of knowledge: In this course on critical thinking, students inquire into the nature of knowing and deepen their understanding of knowledge as a human construction.
Creativity, Action, Service: enhance students' personal and interpersonal development through experiential learning and enable journey of self discovery. - Curriculum: which is composed of several subject groups students have to choose from.
> Subjects - the IB Curriculum
It is important to note that we offer the IB programme in French only (except for Visual Arts and Theater which are taught in English).
The IB programme consists of 6 subject groups and a common core.
To comply with the Curriculum, students must choose one subject from each of the first 5 subject groups. In our school we think it important for all students to take a group 6 subject too.
At our school we offer the following subjects for the subject groups:
Group 1: German & French
Group 2: French & English
Group 3: Philosophy & History (in French )
Group 4: Biology & Physics (in French)
Group 5: Mathematics (in French )
Group 6: Visual Arts & Theatre (in English)
> Admission procedure
In order to apply for entry to the IB programme, pupils need to take an Entry Exam and hand in an application portfolio.

An Interview with the IB coordinator
Pupils at our Waldorf School
who are in the 10th year first need to apply for entry into the 11th year, which is also called the ‘Pre-IB’. This year is a preparatory study year for the IB program.
Only after successful completion of the 11th year may the pupils follow the steps of the application procedure as explained above in order to apply for entry into the two-year IB study program.
> Assessments
IB pupils are evaluated internally and externally. Internal evaluation by teachers represents between 20 and 30 % of the final grades.
The remaining 70 to 80 % is assessed externally, ensuring objectivity amongst all schools world-wide which offer the IB programme.
> Theatre and projects
New theatre programme involving autonomous work resulting in a presentation of a World tradition, a collaborative project and a solo performance.
There is a trip to Berlin in the first year plus a trip to Moldova.
Second year arts pupils go to London and they set up an exhibition of their Artworks at the end of the school year.
